On August 5, I ordered four of the smallest size of these bowls at $1.50 each with super saver shipping and the 4 for 3 promotion, meaning that the four of these cost me $4.50. At least for the present, the price is right. There is nothing on the two labels to indicate the grade of stainlesss, but I am pretty sure they are not 18 gauge but may be 20 gauge. They are shiny and came unscratched. However, it is a real pain to get the two labels off the bowl because of the adhesive that was used. Be sure to use liquid soap and something like a Dobie because a coarse scrubber will permanently scratch the stainless. They went through the dishwasher just fine after that. The labels tell you that these were made in India and that there is a three-year warranty, although there are no other details. I googled on "excelsteel by cook pro" and that will get you to many results where you can locate the manufacturer's website. I could not find any further information on the manufacturer's website on these bowls other than a contact link.Once I saw these bowls, I realized they could have many other uses besides why I purchased them, for holding various chopped food ingredients while cooking. Bear in mind that these are not particularly attractive, but they are very functional. They would be perfect for cereal bowls for camping, pet dishes, or condiments at an outdoor gathering. You would not have to worry about breaking these bowls.

I was pretty excited to finally locate some cheap stainless bowls, so i ordered one to try it out. I planned to use this bowl for marinating chicken, prepping salads, mixing, etc. The bowl itself is a good shape, it has a nice shiny finish, and it isn't as flimsy as I had expected it to be. Af first glance, its a great deal for a great-looking product.The problem is that these bowls are really terrible to clean. I like stainless bowls because they are usually easy to clean, and I can really go to town on them, get them dirty, and when scrubbing, I don't have to worry about scratching the bowl. These bowls somehow just hold on to oils, though. I have other similar bowls that are only slightly more expensive but are much much easier to clean. I literally have to spend three times as long scrubbing this bowl than I do scrubbing my other stainless bowls for the same tasks. Often, I've found even after scrubbing and washing once, after the bowl dries, it has held on to something that feels oily to the touch and looks disgusting.If I didn't have to clean these bowls, they would be the perfect size, weight, and shape, but using them is not worth the hassle of getting them to not look and feel dirty afterwards.

The bowls are exactly what you'd expect, and at a very good price. The only downside is that each bowl comes with two stickers, one on the bottom and one on the inside of the bowl, that are remarkably difficult to remove -- I had to soak the bowls and scrub them off.
