This is the best-designed and nicest stainless steel mixing bowl I've ever had. I wasn't sure what to expect with the non-skid bottom, but it turned out to be great! The bowl doesn't slide around on the counter when I'm doing strenuous stirring, and it also gives the base of the bowl a little weight, making it more stable. The craftsmanship of the product is top-notch -- no rough edges, sturdy, meant to last for years. I gave this as a Christmas gift. I bought the smaller set of 3 bowls to match this one and gave all of them as a set. I received bowls similar to this many, many years ago and still love and use them daily. I like the non-slip feature (mine do not have that feature). They are easy to use, clean, and children cannot break them (mine have outlasted 4 generations of babies and children. I come from a large family, so they have lived through many, many babies and children of all ages). I think every kitchen should have a set of these bowls to use as standard equipment,
