I like letting my kids help out in the kitchen. With 3 children five years old and younger, I need to try and keep the mess to a minimum. This bowl is great because the large, flat bottom surface makes it very stable. I had 2 three year olds, each with their own mini whisks stirring pudding and the bowl never moved - success! While the price seemed a bit high at first - the fact that I wasn't cleaning pudding off the kitchen floor made it well worth every penny. I may actually purchase another bowl because this one worked so well. The mouth is nice and wide - so big enough for a parent to help a child stir. The larger lip around part of the bowl gives kids something to hang on to if they have to carry the bowl a short distance (like from a counter to the sink). I have to admit I am rather impressed with the Curious Chef line. It is allowing me to teach a valuable skill to my kids and we get to have some fun family time in the kitchen together!

At under ten dollars, this is a reasonably priced bowl (as compared with "real" mixing bowls with similar features) that also happens to be cute and frustration-free (non-slip base grip plus handle). Cooking is less messy by minimizing accidental spills. A wonderful product for a child's kitchen cabinet if you have room to spare. Our daughter has been using it for jello, pancake batter etc. It has survived the dishwasher thus far and it appears to be constructed/designed well in general.
