First, these are much nicer than I expected. I thought they would be a hard rubber-like plastic, the kind that is somewhat flexible. No, they resemble melamine or some other VERY hard durable material. They stay put when mixing, due to the rubber insert on the bottom. They clean up well. They are a little wider than I expected. I did think they would be a little taller than wider. Big enough sizes to accomodate whatever I need to mix in them.Just wondered if these would crack, since reviews of other similar products do mention breakage when dropped. So I threw each of these up and down to the ceiling, as well as across the room, on a very hard tile floor. Well, not a crack, nothing. So I threw them harder. While I didn't take a sledge hammer to them, I did throw them really hard, and they are absolutely rough & tough. I am impressed. Haven't done the spaghetti sauce test to see if they will stain. I will post more on that later when I've had occasion to make pasta sauce. I bought the colored ones instead of white that I normally prefer in case there was staining. Will update later...12/14/12 Still great. Dropped many times (by accident) and no cracks. Heated up barbeque pork in it and not a trace of staining.

I have had these bowls for the last 3 years and a couple of bowls have a vertical crack from the top. We do use them everyday, so we definitely have gotten good use out of them already. We like them so much, they still work fine and the crack is nearly invisible, so I haven't replaced them yet, but I do tend to be more careful when I handle them with more vigorous cleaning/cooking, such as avoiding using electric beaters or handheld mixer. Otherwise, they have been great! Nice enough to bring out for parties to put chips, salsa, salads, etc. They nest really nicely and don't take up too much space. The spout makes it a bit easier to pour liquids and such. The nonslip grip at the bottom helps avoid any slips and makes for a cleaner kitchen!

These wash up easily - grip the counter top and makes for ease mixing or stirring. Light weight yet very sturdy and with an easy handle for holding on to. Clean up is a breeze!
