One of the most collected china patterns in the world, Fiestaware provides art deco styling that is enhanced by the strength of chip-resistant vitrified china and a nonporous, 100-percent lead-free glaze. With its classic look that complements a wide range of decors, this 64-ounce large mixing bowl features the signature Fiesta concentric rings and is available in a variety of colors for fun mixing and matching with other Fiestaware. With its flared rim and generous depth, the bowl is perfect for mixing cake batter, tossing green salads, or serving pasta dishes. (To be clear, this is the "large" in the three mixing bowls of this Fiesta style.)I love these bowls, which seem to me to have a Revere-bowl shape... possibly not consistent with the art deco lines of classic Fiesta, but a pleasant shape nonetheless.Although these are labeled as "mixing bowls", they are way more versatile than that... I more often use mine for serving bowls. (I initially didn't like the Fiesta flat-bottomed bowl style, although I now have one for casserole-type things.) I got a full set of small, medium, large a few years ago and have found that I use them enough that I wanted more than one, so I've added a few more of the small and medium in different colors. (The large is less precious because I have other serving bowls that size.)Do check the sizes on these and make sure they're as big as you're looking for. When I got my first set of three (one of each), I was a little disappointed that the largest one isn't as big as what I think of as a "large" mixing bowl. (I think in my head, the "small" is what I expected a "small mixing bowl" to be, and the "large" is about like a "medium mixing bowl"... and the "medium" is pleasantly in between.)But I do most often use all of mine for serving... it's pretty enough for that. (I don't fully understand the comment about it not being high enough for a mixing bowl. I wouldn't whip cream in it, but I wouldn't whip cream in a normal mixing bowl... I have a special bowl for that.)To answer the question about actual dimensions, it's about 9.25" in diameter and about 3.5" high. But note the curve of the lip; most of the bowl is about 6.5-7" wide. 70oz. would be full to the brim, which of course one would not do with liquids. I just filled a 2-quart pitcher (64oz) and poured into the bowl, and stopped pouring before the pitcher was empty for fear of making a mess. I'm going to guess that 60oz is about as full as anyone would want this, say if you were making pudding or something liquidy. But with pasta or something, you could heap it higher, of course.

In the description for this bowl, it is indicated as a 70-oz. bowl. I can assure you that it does NOT hold 70 ounces of anything! Perhaps the description is referring to how much it WEIGHS, which is rather pointless, in my opinion! Realistically, the bowl will hold approximately 48 ounces of liquid. I was misled by the description, but will keep the pretty red bowl for other purposes than which it was originally intended.

This is a beautiful SERVING bowl, but pay attention to the size listed; it is much TOO shallow to be a Mixing Bowl. It arrived quickly and was packaged very well.
