We gave this as a gift and a week later we got it back,FILLED with hot food.They had traveled 3 1/2 hours away and the food was still HOT.This could be the gift that keeps giving. After many frugal years of lining soda flat boxes with foil and towels, with more towels on top to keep potluck food warm pre-feeding frenzy, I've finally succumbed to the insulated carrying case. I actually did not purchase this item through Amazon, but Target doesn't list it on their website (bought it in the store). I used it for the first time today and brought it to our holiday potluck filled with very warm cornbread stuffing.The baking dish itself is your standard pyrex 9 x 13 inch. I do appreciate the handles with holes for feeling more secure when grabbing a hot dish with bulky oven mitts from the oven. The lid is a sturdy but flexible plastic that fits rather securely similar to Tupperware. The case feels rather durable with just enough padding to still be slimline as opposed to overly bulky. One plastic zipper, fairly heavy duty. It has an interior pocket in the flap for carrying an extra towel and/or a serving utensil. The hot/cold pack is a good size and fits evenly beneath the dish.Now...down to the part about how well it works...I baked the stuffing this morning, microwaved the heat pack for about 2:30 minutes and placed it into the carrier (don't be manly, use oven mitts!) along with the covered stuffing at about 8 am. I couldn't help myself, I still used a couple of thin towels to insulate it a little more. Zipped up easily with the towels, heat pack, covered dish and a serving spoon. It definitely stayed really warm until it was unveiled at our 12 pm lunch. I considered warming the heat pack up again at about 10:30 but when I felt the bottom of my dish it was still almost too hot to touch.Needless to say, all of the stuffing was eaten, wish I could say the same for the turkey and ham provided by the company, which was frosty cold. This would make any perfectionist home-cook, who brings their dishes to parties, extremely happy!

I have an unhealthy obsession with Pyrex, so it pains me a little to write this review for a product I so much wanted to like.First, the other reviewer who said the lid is loose, is right (unless we both got duds). It felt very loose to me as soon as I got the product. It still felt loose after first wash in the dishwasher. When I packed the dish with a vegetable casserole in cheese sauce, I made sure to secure the lid as tightly as I could before it went in the bag. At my destination, even though I had been careful the whole time not to shake the bag, I found the cheese sauce had leaked out of the dish and stained the bag.Second, it would not be at all difficult for the manufacturers to make a bag that was machine washable (especially if they're going to make a lid that is loose). For the sake of the experiment (and since I had already given up on this system), I washed my now-cheesy bag in the washer, just to see what happens. It survived a hot wash just fine, and an air dry, except for the flat panel at the bottom of the bag. I slit this part open to see what was lumpy and balled up in there. It was a piece of cardboard that had disintegrated in the wash. The thin layer of foam had survived unscathed. So, if the cardboard padding in this section was replaced with something a little more substantial, this bag could be machine-washed.This system is a great idea, and hopefully, these two glitches will be addressed in the next incarnation of this product.
