These are moderately-priced everyday functional glass bowls, and the price seems right for what you get. My first issue with them is that they are straight-sided enough that they don't nest well for stacking - I'd call it a precarious stack. They're about 1 3/4" tall, and when stacked, close to 1" of the top bowl is above the lip of the next bowl down. That isn't too terrible in itself - but they "wobble" very easily. They also don't fit well in my Bosch dishwasher, but that's a very minor nitpick - the non-stacking could be a safety issue for some people. I'm hoping to be able to move them to a bottom cabinet to reduce the likelihood of one suiciding (since they are a tempered glass, they may survive a short fall onto a wood laminate flooring, not that I'm about to test that just for a review!). These do work in the microwave and dishwasher. Another reviewer noted on the matching dessert plates that there were imperfections in the glass. Yes, there are. Minor ones, in my opinion. These are priced to be everyday glassware, not formal crystal. Check Arc's website that explains what they mean by "resistant". *** UPDATE: However, I've found that these apparently chip pretty easily. I still have plates, glassware, etc. from 30 years ago (and some of it was used back then!) and don't get chips, etc. in them, but one of these bowls has already gotten a small chip out of the lip. I'm not sure if I'll be able to file or sand it to smooth it down. But I did downgrade my rating based on that. If I get another chip within a few months, I'd have to move them to a not-recommended status.
